Roof shingles

The roof shingles are available in the 1/120 (TT), 1/87 (H0), 1/72, 1/48, and 1/35 scales and is suitable for covering the roofs of wooden houses or similar buildings.

The roof shingles are laser-cut from veneer, which resembles real roof shingles.

When cutting or breaking off individual strips of shingles, the strips may break because they are made of thin veneer. The broken and shorter parts of these strips can be used in the same way as the long ones. Shingles are usually glued to other parts, so shorter strips can be used without any problems.

Approximate area coverage when using frames of individual scales (depends on the overlap when gluing).

1/120 (TT): 35 x 63  mm – the size of 1 roof shingle in this scale:   2.9 x 1.1 mm

1/87 (H0): 95 x 53   mm – the size of 1 roof shingle in this scale:   4.4 x 1.7 mm

1/72:           110 x 65   mm – the size of 1 roof shingle in this scale:  5.1 x 2    mm

1/48:          90 x 180  mm – the size of 1 roof shingle in this scale:   7.7 x 3    mm

1/35:          120 x 240 mm – the size of 1 roof shingle in this scale:  10.2 x 4  mm

The shingle frame in the 1/48 and 1/35 scales is made up of two pieces.

Any model paints are suitable for painting the kit – synthetic, acrylic etc. For gluing we recommend using glue for paper or wood. Colors and glue are not a part of the set.
